Solidarity Challenge Month Begins Today!

Today is the first day of Solidarity Challenge Month!

This morning, I had the opportunity to explain our Solidarity Challenge to upper-elementary students at Aidan Montessori School in Washington DC. As I was getting ready to leave, I overheard the students excitedly asking their teacher if they could participate as a class. They exclaimed, "We could have a slumber party here at school, and raise money!" and "Let's sell something!" Kids love making a difference -- and having fun doing it!

Here are some stories of activities Wells of Love schools and individuals have done for Amman Imman through the years. These are great ideas for a Solidarity Challenge:
  • Coin Collection - Students at St. Paul's Episcopal Montessori School in Texas developed their research and public speaking skills, and then raised $643 through a coin collection. Read more here.
  • Movie Night - Students at JEJ Moore Middle School in Virginia raised $363 by charging admission to the move "Frozen". Read more here.
  • Bake and Plant sale - Young students at Montessori of Maryknoll in Illinois studied Africa, and then sold cookies and plants to help the Azawak. Read more here
  • Trick-or-Treat for the Azawak - Glue this fun wrapper onto a jar or container and collect coins for the Azawak. Download the Trick or Treat wrapper here.
