Ariane Kirtley Inspires Youth to Take Compassionate Action

Saturday, May 16th is just around the corner - the day we host the 2015 A Walk for Water event at John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD!

We have less than 30 days until we all get together to walk 5K to benefit the people of the Azawak of West Africa. Remember: the 5K represents the 35 miles that people of the Azawak have to walk to get clean water!

Please join our efforts to continue to assist individuals and families who are need our help and support!

Here's a quick update on the event!

International Humanitarian Inspires Youth to Take Compassionate Action
Join us Friday evening, April 24th at 6 pm, to be inspired!

Amman Imman: Water is Life’s Founder and Executive Director Ariane Kirtley is in the Washington, DC area, just back from Niger, the poorest nation on Earth, and also a theater of regional struggle against the rise of Islamist radicalization.

Ariane will address students and parents from the John F. Kennedy High School in Silver Spring, MD and other Montgomery County schools on the organization’s work in rural Niger, and how they can take a role as global citizens around critical issues like water scarcity and fostering friendships between diverse cultures. She will talk about what students can personally do to make a difference by participating in the 2015 A Walk for Water.

The presentation will be held at JFK High School, 1901 Randolph Road, Silver Spring, MD 20902.

Walk Route for A Walk for Water
Thanks to our partnership with the John F. Kennedy High School, this year's 2015 A Walk for Water 5K route will take participants through the neighboring streets of the school in Silver Spring, MD. We look forward to the community cheering on participants and supporting our efforts!

We will have signage, made by John F. Kennedy's High School's ESOL and SGA students, along the route, as well as monitors to help guide everyone to the finish line!

Girl Scouts Troop Selling Cookies
5th grade City of Rockville Girl Scout Troop #3643 will be on hand to pass out the cookies from their "Gift of Caring" program. The girls made Amman Imman their designated beneficiary of the program this year to raise awareness on the need for clean drinking water in Africa.
